Do Not Change!
All the other motorcycle maga-
zines I enjoyed have turned into
a version of Sunset magazine
and have gone to bi-monthly or
quarterly. Cycle News still rocks
the way a moto mag should.
Thanks, and please don't
change like the rest have.

Honda Cub
In reading Mr. Eton's letter on
this new Cub in this week's
Cycle News, I 100 percent
agree with the points he makes.
In particular, the new Cub is
$1000, and its engine is anemic
at only nine horsepower.
As a BSME and an engine
guy, I think even an "air-cooled"
125cc single should be able to
make at least 12 horsepower
and maintain excellent durability.
Please forward my email
to Honda, that they will make
much more in gross revenue
by reasonably pricing this Cub,
versus trying to capitalize on the
nostalgia craze and getting us
over-60 riders to purchase one.
I have owned over 40 mo-
torcycles and do like nostalgia
bikes of the '60s and '70s. I own
a 2014 CB1100 and am contem-
plating buying a W800.

In The Paddock:
Innovation Vs.
Immolation
Mr. Scott, be careful what you
wish for in regards to aerody-
namic innovation in MotoGP. Do
you really want a series more
like F1 where a driver (or rider)
gets within two seconds of an-
other car and has to "hold posi-
tion" or end up trashing his front
tires as the inevitable understeer
takes hold due to "dirty air?"
Do you really want it to be
like F1 where there are only four
cars capable of winning a race?
What makes motorcycle rac-
ing great is two small contact
patches and the ability to run
close to each other with no dirty
air to spoil the show.
I would wager that most
would argue that MotoGP has
never been better, and the talent
of the riders is on display each
and every weekend.
I never want to read about a
rider having to back off because
of turbulence due to aero aids
of the rider in front.
So please clarify, MotoGP is
bad because the racing is too
close?

Atlanta Short Track
Somebody must be giving the
Harleys vitamins. Vanderkooi
has his second fourth-place
of the year and looks like he is
competitive.
Robinson must feel relieved
with this win after two years of
frustration with the XG750R.
The battles between Mees,
Robinson and Briar Bauman will
be the highlight of this season.

Jeff Stanton
I just wanted to say that I enjoyed your photo of Jeff Stanton in
Captured recently. Actually, I enjoy all of the photos in Cycle News,
but the one of Stanton really stood out for me. I remember his hard
work ethic. He was not the flashiest rider on the track, but he was
more often than not the fastest, and that is all that matters.
Keep up the excellent work. I still enjoy getting my Cycle News
every week just like I did 30 years ago. It did, however, take me a
little while to warm up to the switch to digital but I would not have it
any other way now.
Thanks, again.
