IN THE WIND P36 Virginia National Enduro Canceled T he Dragon's Back National Enduro scheduled for May 12 in Arrington, Virginia, has been can- celed, according to the National Enduro Promotions Group (NEPG). According to the April Fools Promotors, unexpect- ed land issues forced the cancelation of the event. As a result, the NEPG has added another round to the 2019 schedule. The Perry Mountain Motor- cycle Club in Stanton, Alabama, will replace the Dragon's Back National Enduro with its Gobbler Getter National Enduro on November 2, 2019. CN Michael Dunlop Confirmed For Pikes Peak M ichael Dunlop has been confirmed on the entry list for the 2019 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The Northern Irishman, who currently holds third place on the all-time Isle of Man TT winner's list with 18 victories on the Moun- tain Course, will pilot a BMW S 1000 R as a teammate to Ger- man Lucy Glockner, who sensationally clocked a 10:21.932 on her rookie debut at the mountain last year. Dunlop and Glockner will be a part of the team, Wunderlich Motorsport powered by ProKASRO. The move to a June 30 race day, one week later than usual, has allowed TT racer Dunlop's schedule to open up as the finish to the Isle of Man TT has traditionally been too close to Pikes Peak time to allow for a competitive entry. All eyes will be on Dunlop as he attempts to not just win on his debut but also challenge Chris Fillmore's 2017 race record of 9:49.625. The 2019 race looks set to be one of the fastest on record with the Heavyweight field stacked with competitive entries. Cycle News' Rennie Scaysbrook will return for his fourth attempt at the Pikes Peak crown, switching from KTM to Aprilia machinery. Cory West will pilot a Zero SF/R, Carlin Dunne will return on an Exhibition Class Ducati and Codie Vahsholtz will once again pilot a Ducati Multistrada MTS1200 Pikes Peak edi- tion at the iconic event. CN Michael Dunlop at Pikes Peak will be an incredible sight come June this year. The Dragon's Back National Enduro in Arrington, Virginia, May 12, has been canceled.
