IN THE WIND P32 Hawaii Supercross Set To Return S upercross racing will return to Honolulu's Aloha Stadium in Hawaii. The stand-alone race is scheduled for May 11, 2019. The Hawaii Supercross will take place one week after the Monster X Tour event, and, ac- cording to the promoter, Aloha Stadium will be transformed into a world-class supercross track. "Our goal is to create an evening to remember, for this to become an annual tradition for locals to enjoy with family," said Sports Organizer Eric Peronnard. "We are fully committed to making this an unforgettable night of rac- ing and excitement. We are putting together a great list of riders and so far we will have Daytona Supercross winner Justin Brayton, Mike Alessi, Josh Hill and many more to be announced soon." Daniel Torgerson CEO of the Hawaiian Supercross, said, "We're very excited to be bringing Super- cross back to Hawaii. It's hard to believe that nearly 20 years have passed since the last Hawaiian Supercross event—we're genu- inely thrilled that now the people of Hawaii will have an opportunity to experience an action packed evening up close and personal with top professional athletes." The pit party starts at 4 p.m. local time with the night show kicking off at 7:30 p.m. In addition, the evening will feature X-Games FreeStyle MX riders doing tricks throughout the evening. The Dutchman has already missed the opening two rounds due to his foot injury that he suf- fered prior to the start of the 2019 GP championship. "Rehab has been going very well and I cannot wait to be back and to throw a leg over the bike again," Her- lings said prior to last weekend's round two at Matter- ley Basin in Great Britain. "I want to be back at the GPs as quick as possible but we cannot say which race yet until I get some riding time. I'm also able to step-up my cycling and swimming now. For sure we'll miss the next three rounds and we also don't want to rush things and risk a setback." There had been some talk of Herlings skipping the MXGP Championship entirely to come to the U.S. and instead compete in the AMA outdoor nationals, but the team says that idea has been nixed and Herlings is go- ing to stay in Europe.
