start to pass teammate Mitchell

final podium spot.
As the 250SX East Series goes
into a brief, three-week hiatus, For-
kner has a commanding 26-point
lead in the championship over
Sexton, with Cooper just a couple
points farther back in third. CN

Forkner said of the crash: "I think
Justin [Cooper] was next to me
[off the start], and I didn't want to
let off until he did, and then I went
in way too deep and then jumped
into a Tuff Block and got run over
by a couple guys. That sucked.
Then I had to come through guys,
and it was the first time I had to do
that this season, so I was a little bit
squirrely, and I didn't want to run
into the back of somebody and
make it an even worse situation.
I ended up with a pretty decent
gate [pick for the main event], two
inside of the box, which I was pretty
surprised about."
He took that gate, then grabbed
the holeshot and led every lap of
Justin Cooper (32) made a
late-race pass to get on the
250 podium.
