IN THE WIND P40 Bryson Named MotoAmerica Senior Sponsorship Manager M otoAmerica announced it has hired motorcycle industry veteran Lance Bryson as Senior Sponsorship Manager, effective immediately. Bryson comes to MotoAmer- ica with a career in the motor- cycle industry that dates back to 1982, including his most recent responsibility as the director of special events for the Bonnier Corporation where he managed all aspects of the AMA Enduro- Cross Series, from start to finish. Bryson was not only involved in all levels of the EnduroCross Series operations, but he also directed local and national sponsorship and sponsorship fulfillment. "We are thrilled to be able to bring Lance to our team," said MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey. "A lot of us here have known Lance for a long time. We know he's very respected within our industry and he will be a nice addition to the MotoAmerica team. This is just one more piece of the puzzle that will push us forward to the next level and we're excited about it." "I'm pumped to get the oppor- tunity to help MotoAmerica reach the next level with their sponsor- ship strategy," said Bryson. "As someone who was involved in so many levels in the EnduroCross Series, I've always paid atten- tion to MotoAmerica and have watched them grow. When I saw that they were part of two net- works for the coming season, I knew they were going big time. I think it's a great time for us to be getting together and I'm excited to get started." CN Wharton Sidelined B lake Wharton says he will be out of action for the rest of the racing season. Wharton, of the TiLube Honda Racing Team, suffered a knee injury at the Atlanta Supercross that will sideline him for the rest of the 250SX East Championship and then some. Wharton's season was cut short last year also because of a knee injury. Wharton said in a team statement: "After much consideration with doctors, personal trainers, and the TiLube Honda Racing team, we have decided to repair the damage to my knee sustained at the Atlanta Supercross (which resulted in a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus). This is an unfortunate turn of events for us this season as we have been improving each round as a team and were really looking forward to the second half of the season. We have already begun to set our sights to some preseason supercross events and to 2020 super- cross. Thanks to all the sponsors and fans who supported us this year."
