or the third time, the
American Flat Track season
blasted off inside the huge
Daytona International Speedway.
The unique layout of the tem-
porary TT circuit proved to be
quite challenging to all, but Briar
Bauman (Indian Motorcycle/
Progressive Insurance, Indian
FTR750) adapted quickly. The
result was 25-lap domination of
the first round of the American
Flat Track Twins presented by
Vance & Hines Championship.
Bauman backed up his fast
qualifying time, as he rock-
eted off the line at the start of
the main. "I got the holeshot
but missed a shift on the front
straightaway, and Bronson (Bau-
man) went around me on the
