IN THE WIND P44 Baylor, who finished fourth overall, was a bit off his game in Georgia, having tweaked his already dodgy knee during the week leading up to the race. He was pretty much in survival mode for most of the race. Fifth place went to Josh Strang. "Kailub went by me mid- way into the race, when I made a mistake and I followed him for a while," he said. "We hopped off the motocross track and I saw these three guys take a line straight through the woods, so I went from second to like fifth in a hurry. I was a bit disappointed at that, but I think I was riding good and I feel like I had a good day. I think we're a bit soft on our set- tings but it's just the second race of the season." Josh Toth (FMF/KTM Factory Racing) was sixth, just two sec- onds behind Strang. First in the XC2 250 Pro class and seventh overall went to Trail Jesters Racing KTM's Ben Kelley. "I kind of messed up my start," said Kelley. "I didn't hit the button right and took it bit. I made a few quick passes and was able to get into the lead somewhere on the first lap. I just put in a charge and tried to gap those guys as best I could. Then I had a little crash. Feet on the pegs, just a little too much gas and spun out around that corner, but nothing crazy. I just rode a steady race from there on." Jordan Ashburn (Monster Energy Babbitt's Kawasaki) was eighth, ahead of Andrew DeLong (Phoenix Honda) and Evan Smith (Husqvarna/Max Motorsports/ FXR Racing), who was 10th over- all and second in the XC2 250 Pro class. Cody Barnes won the FMF XC3 125 Pro-Am class, with a 17th overall finish. "I was third off the line behind Jesse Ansley and Jason Thomas, but I got around Jesse early when he started hav- ing problems," said Barnes. "It was me and Jason for a little bit, then I ended up getting around him in one of the more tight, tech- nical sections. My line ended up being faster than his line." Becca Sheets (FLY/Maxxis/ Pro Circuit KTM) won the WMX class on Sunday morning ahead of KTM-supported Mackenzie Tricker and Husqvarna-backed Tayla Jones. "I think the podium finishers in the class are all riding strong," said Sheets. "Mackenzie took over the lead at the start of the race and I think about the whole two hours we each had a turn at the lead. But then, on the final lap, I was able to take over the lead and I just able to stay smooth and I was happy to take the win." Shan Moore OVERALL 1. Kailub Russell (KTM) 2. Trevor Bollinger (Hus) 3. Thad Duvall (Hus) 4. Steward Baylor (KTM) 5. Josh Strang (Kaw) 6. Josh Toth (KTM) 7. Ben Kelley (KTM) XC2 Pro 8. Jordan Ashburn (Kaw) 9. Andrew DeLong (Hon) 10.
