STAR POWER
Marketed under the oddly distinct moniker
of Sport Heritage Motorcycles, the motorcycle
family formerly known as Star Motorcycles is
Yamaha's cruiser stable. It's small but it covers a
lot of ground. From the agile V Star 250 to the
raw powerhouse that is the V-Max, Yamaha has a
little something for both ends of the horsepower
spectrum and a midsize offering in between, as
well.
Familiar faces are back for 2019. In addition to
the V Star and the V-Max, the middleweight Bolt
returns. Originally offered up as an entry-level
cruiser in 2013, the Bolt has also logged time as
a popular blank canvas for custom enthusiasts,
getting scrambled, chopped, and bobberized in
various ways in its six-year history.
Bagger fans can appreciate Yamaha's
Transcontinental Touring models, the Star Eluder
and Star Venture V-twin dressers. Decked out
with hard saddlebags and a sleek, sexy fairing,
the Eluder is for riders who want the bagger
experience but without going full moto-couch.
That job falls to the Venture, which, with a full
tour pack on it, gives you and your passenger
more comfort and ample cargo capacity for those
long trips.
