SUPERCROSS ROUND 10 / MARCH 9, 2019 DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY / DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA P62 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS and easy to make mistakes. I just tried to be consistent. Austin rode really well and didn't make any mistakes. Overall it was a pretty good race." Mitchell Oldenburg (Monster En- ergy/Star Yamaha Racing) was a dis- tant fourth, and Alex Martin (JGRMX/ Yoshimura Suzuki) was fifth. "Mitchell and I matched lap times for most of the main," said Martin, "so I couldn't close the gap on him for fourth. I was consistent with hitting the rhythm sections. They were massive this weekend. It was a solid ride, and the best I've ever done in Daytona." Forkner currently has a com- fortable 23-point lead in the class over Cooper and Sexton, who are joined at the hip in second. A distant fourth is Martin. CN 450SX 1. Eli Tomac (Kaw) 2. Cooper Webb (KTM) 3. Marvin Musquin (KTM) 4. Blake Baggett (KTM) 5. Joey Savatgy (Kaw) 6. Zach Osborne (Hus) 7. Justin Hill (Suz) 8. Ken Roczen (Hon) 9. Justin Brayton (Hon) 10. Chad Reed (Suz) 250SX EAST 1. Austin Forkner (Kaw) 2. Chase Sexton (Hon) 3. Justin Cooper (Yam) 4. Mitchell Oldenburg (Yam) 5. Alex Martin (Suz) 6. Brandon Hartranft (Yam) 7. Kyle Peters (Suz) 8. Josh Osby (Yam) 9. Kyle Cunningham (Hon) 10. Martin Davalos (Kaw) Both riders settled in right behind Forkner off the start, but neither could hang with the now four-time season winner. They got around Peters shortly after Forkner did but spent most of the race battling against each other, with Sexton getting the upper hand. "I got myself behind Jus- tin [Cooper], then he made a mistake and I got by him," said Sexton. "Austin was about four seconds ahead of me and just kind of stayed there for the rest of the race. The track was gnarly mistakes," Forkner said. "The start [getting a good one] helped and doing the big rhythm every single lap and not making a mistake because it was easy to mistime it. And the whoops were also destroyed, so basically that whole straight right there was really critical that you got that clean. That was the difference for me—trying to eliminate the mis- takes; I made little ones but no big ones, so that's what did it." Cooper and Sexton had their chance against Forkner but failed. Chase Sexton spent most of the race chasing Forkner but couldn't catch him.
