Ricky Carmichael Amateur SX Underway T he 10th Annual Ricky Carmi- chael Amateur Supercross returned to Daytona International Speedway, Sunday, March 10, following the Monster Energy Su- percross that was Saturday night, March 9. The MX Sports crew went to work after the 450SX po- dium ceremonies to start prepar- ing an amateur-friendly track for all amateurs to race on Sunday and Monday. Sunday morning started with practice and by mid-afternoon the heat races were underway to qualify for the main events, Mon- day, March 11. Kawasaki Team Green rider Seth Hammaker won both the 250A and Open Pro Sport heats and looks to be the favorite in both classes to win the class championships. Jarrett Frye also looks like the favorite in the B class after win- ning the 250B and 450B heats. Pro Circuit/Team Green Kawa- saki rider Jett Reynolds won his heats in both Supermini 1 and 2.
