"The first two races, I got myself where I needed to be and made two mistakes that cost me, I think, to be in any sort of contention," Sexton said. "But the third race, I just told myself I've got to go out there and try to win because I was a little bit back on points. I felt really good again today, but maybe felt a little flat during the night show. But I'm looking forward to next weekend for the East/West Shootout." 26 ALEX MARTIN 6TH (10-3-6) 250SX EAST Alex Martin (JGRMX/Yoshimura Suzuki) feels as though he rode better than his results would suggest. "I was happy with my riding in Detroit," Martin said. "I quali- fied third fastest in practice, which is something I haven't done for a few years in supercross. I had a great jump in the first main, but I got pushed off the track on the start. I was only able to get back to 10th place. I was very happy with my third-place finish in the second main. It was the best I have ridden in a supercross race in a long time. The third main event I pretty much finished where I started. My consistency on the starts is something we will work on this week." Jordon Smith (28) and Chase Sexton (23) battled for second place in the 250SX class.
