Dunlop Introduces New
Small Displacement Street Tires
D
unlop says it is now offering several tire choices for small-displacement street bikes with 10- and 12-
inch wheels, which includes popular models such as the Honda Ruckus, Grom and new Monkey,
Yamaha Zuma, and several models from Kymco and Vespa.
Dunlop says the new K180 tire is inspired by American Flat Track racing that offers classic dirt-track
style in a modern street-legal DOT tire that performs on the street and on the dirt. The new 120/90-10
front and 130/90-10 rear sizes fit the popular Honda Grom and Yamaha Zuma.
The all-new D604 lets riders go off-road and stay on budget. Designed as an 80/20 tire—80-percent
street, 20-percent off-road, the D604 is available in 120/70-12 front, and 130/70-12 rear sizes. CN
BRP Buys "Select Assets of Alta Motors"
B
ombardier Recreational
Products (BRP) has an-
nounced the purchase of select
assets of Faster-Faster, Inc.—the
parent company of the now de-
funct electric off-road motorcycle
brand, Alta.
According to the press release
issued on February 19, the pur-
chase "includes certain intellec-
tual property, patents and some
limited physical assets from the
former all-electric motorcycle
design and manufacturing com-
pany. It is an opportunity for BRP
to complement its ongoing re-
search and development into this
burgeoning area of expertise."
However, any hopes that
BRP would kick in the capital to
restart what was once the most
promising electric off-road mo-
torcycle manufacturer have been
dashed, with BRP categorically
stating, "BRP has no interest in
restarting operations of Alta Mo-
tors and assumes no liabilities."
The purchase of Alta's Intel-
lectual Property means the
that will very likely be all she
wrote for the San Francisco
motorcycle start-up. BRP and
Alta already have a checkered
history, with BRP balking at
making a much-needed invest-
ment in Alta last year when
they needed it most. That de-
cision was ultimately a major
nail in the coffin, and Alta shut
its doors not long after. CN
BRP has purchased certain
properties of Alta Motors.
