Argubright Scores Again In Texas National H&H J acob Argubright (Off-Road Support/TBT Racing Kawa- saki) rebounded from a mediocre start to claw his way to the front and win the Lone Star National hosted by the Lubbock Trail Riders, round two of the Kenda/ SRT AMA Hare & Hound National Championship Series, Presented by FMF, February 23-24. Coupled with his triumph at round one, he's off to his best start ever and leads the series points with a perfect 60 points over Beta's Joe Wasson, the Lone Star runner-up who has 46. Two-time series champ Ricky Brabec—a disappointed seventh in his maiden outing on Honda's new CRF450X—sits third in points at 39, while Kendall Norman, the defending series champ and last year's winner, is fourth in points at 31 after finishing fourth in Texas. "I'm more mellow this year," Ar- gubright said. "I knew I had some work to do on the start so I just kind of went to work. "After my start today, I was thinking, 'Well, I really don't know if I can do it, but it happened last round so I think I can do it.' I kind of paced myself a little bit. It was a lot of turns! I'm tired of turning! It was like a corner track for 90 miles. It was fun, though, but I'm tired." By the end of the second loop, only holeshot winner Norman (Chocolate Mountain Ranch/ ERA/Pro Circuit CRF450X), but he crashed going over a boulder on an off-camber sidehill, hand- ing Argubright the lead. From there, Argubright and his Maxima/Galfer/Fly Racing KX450 controlled the relent- less final 30-mile loop with its IN THE WIND P32 It wasn't easy but Jacob Argubright earned his second win of the season in Texas.
