Bollinger Wins
Union AMA
East Hare Scrambles
T
he opening round of the SRT-AMA East Hare
Scrambles Series got underway in Union, South
Carolina, February 17, and Husqvarna rider Trevor
Bollinger came away with the overall win.
Bollinger grabbed the holeshot and never looked
back. By the halfway point of the first lap, he had already carved out a 30-sec-
ond lead. His lead steadily grew until it was to well over a minute by the finish.
Bollinger would cruise to victory over Yamaha rider Ricky Russell who passed
Kawasaki rider Jonathan Johnson early in the race and never relinquished the spot.
Johnson finished out the day on the podium in third, while Austin Lee (Honda)
and Evan Earl, riding a 125cc Yamaha, rounded out the top five overall.
In the AA class Taylor Johnson was holding down the point on the last lap
when he ran out of gas, handing the AA-class win to Michael Beeler Jr. (KTM) in
eighth overall. Johnson ended up second in class after refueling.
