Red Bull KTM Launches
Factory Flat Track Effort
K
TM North America and Red
Bull officially unveiled their team
for the 2019 American Flat Track
Singles Championship at Perris
Raceway today, Tuesday, February
19, 2019.
The new-look effort, the first fac-
tory effort in the Singles class, will
see defending Singles Champion,
Dan Bromley, teaming with Shayna
Texter, with both riders piloting 450
SX-F Factory Edition machines,
with KTM's former AMA Superbike
rider Chris Fillmore in the position
as team manager.
"It's a new venture for KTM,
but we have a race-proven bike
with Dan taking last year's title on
the KTM and two riders who are
hungry to get the wins this year,
said Fillmore. "It's been non-stop
work since we decided to get this
team off the ground late last year,
but we're glad to see the project
come to fruition. We're excited to
learn all we can and get the wheels
spinning."
Bromley's addition to the fac-
tory team comes after the full-time
carpenter took the 2018 title as a
privateer, racing and sleeping out of
the back of his van.
"It's great to have a real race team
behind me," beamed Bromley. "To
know now all I need to do is focus
on riding fast and not all the other
stuff that comes with racing is great.
I'm so happy to be joining this team."
Meanwhile, Texter has been
busy training in Florida over the
past three months with renowned
motocross and supercross trainer
Aldon Baker, and has a focus on
better results in the TT races to go
with her undoubted mile and half
mile speed.
"I've suffered in the past with the
TT's and Aldon is really helping me
get in the right mindset for those
races," Texter said. "The bike is
excellent, I knew after 10 laps in the
first test we had something special.
The aim is for a sure a champion-
ship win. I've had a few seasons
where I left some things on the
table, I don't want to do that again
this year." CN
