Our cover photo 50 years ago didn't have much to do with what was
inside the issue, but we doubt anyone cared… What you would find in the
issue was our coverage of the ACA motocross at Saddleback Park…
Wes Cooley and Dave Aldana were a few of the award recipients at the
ACA banquet in Buena
Park, California… We
covered the Lytle Creek
Enduro in Rialto, California.
The enduro focused on
beginners, fun and family.
Fifty percent of the 225
entries were made up of
father-son teams.

LOOKING BACK
We featured something for almost everyone—motocross, off-road and
flat-track—on the cover 40 years ago… We covered the Dirtfliers Hare
Scrambles in Lucerne Valley, California, where Dale's Modern Cycle
teammates Bruce Ogilvie and Chuck Miller, both riding Yamaha IT
400s, went 1-2… We featured an in-depth interview with Mike Kidd…
Danny Chandler, Bryan Myerscough and Goat Breker were the big
winners at the CMC Golden State MX Series round at Huron, California.
They all won their class championship, as well.
