SUPERCROSS ROUND 4 / JANUARY 26, 2019 MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA / US BANK STADIUM P56 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS Ken Roczen (Honda HRC) and Blake Baggett (Rocky Mountain ATV-MC KTM) stayed close. The four were eventually joined by Webb's teammate Marvin Musquin, but were never joined by Tomac, who started outside the top 15 in his first race with the red plate and finished sixth. Webb pressured Savatgy until finally forcing a mistake and in place for the entire race, eventually taking the win and the number-one qualifying spot. In the main event, Webb grabbed another holeshot but was quickly passed by Tomac's teammate Joey Savatgy. Sa- vatgy led a freight train of racers for more than half of the main event, while Webb ran second just behind him, and Australian Hunter Lawrence was sup- posed to have made his AMA Super- cross debut at Minneapolis but an injury prevented that from happening. Lawrence injured his shoulder during pre-season training then re-aggravat- ed it a few weeks before Minneapolis, preventing him from racing. So, as of now, his debut is still on hold. FACTORY AGAIN The Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing Team has recruited Dean Wilson again as a fill-in rider for the injured Jason Anderson. Wilson started the season as a privateer aboard a Husqvarna and will finish out the SX series with the Rockstar squad. "The night wasn't great but not too bad, either," Wilson said. "I'm not super pumped on it, but I came out healthy. I think the past couple weeks of not getting into my normal schedule, due to the rain and resting the week after Oakland because of my knee, definitely had me feeling it and it was a tough main event the whole time. I think just trying to get back to my normal schedule will help a lot. It was awesome to be back with the team this weekend and we're just going to get better from here." Zach Osborne, Wilson's 450SX teammate, did not race in Minneapolis. He's been out with in injury and is expected back soon. TIGHT RACE After Minneapolis, the top four in the 450SX points standings are separated by two points. That might be unprece- dented, but even weirder than that, two of those four racers haven't won a sin- gle race so far in 2019 (Marvin Musquin and points leader Ken Roczen), and none of them have ever won a 450SX AMA Supercross championship. Briefly... Marvin Musquin (25) continues to ride solidly, finishing out the race on the podium.
