ROUND 5 / FEBRUARY 3, 2019

Tomac led all 12 laps in the
shortened 450SX main event.
(Both the 450SX and 250SX mains
were shortened by five minutes
because of the horrible conditions
and long lap times.) Tomac built up
a 13-second lead and would need
it at the end of the race to hold off
a charging Musquin and Roczen.
"I did have a pretty sizeable
lead at one point, and then, I don't
know, some point probably around
a half lap to go, I ended up catch-
ing my footpeg on the hay bale
[Tuff Block cover] after the first set
of whoops, and I had to pull it off,"
Cooper Webb saw his
points lead evaporate in
the mud but kept things
from getting completely
away from him.
Justin Barcia saw his title hopes take
a big hit when his clutch gave out
early in the main event.
