ROUND 5/FEBRUARY 2, 2013
ANGEL STADIUM/ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA
SUPERCROSS
P38
MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM CHAMP
roic win, though he did lead all
but the first two laps of the 20-lap
feature.
For Dungey, his wild evening
started early in the night, even
before the gate dropped for his
heat race. That's when the super-trick air shock that he's been
using on and off since the series
started lost pressure and deflated, turning the back end of his
works KTM into a low rider. He
got as far as the first turn before
accepting the fact that his bike
was unrideable and he returned
to the pits to swap the air shock
out with a spring shock.
He returned for the LCQ on a
rear shock that he hadn't used
since the Phoenix Supercross
and, of course, hadn't had any
time to dial it in for the Anaheim
III track that was slick (aided by a
light sprinkle from the night sky)
