When Musquin moved into second
place with about eight minutes left in
the race, he was about eight seconds
behind Webb, but by the final lap, he
had narrowed the gap to less than a
second. Webb withstood the pressure
to take his second 450SX victory in his
career, and in a row.
"I honestly can't believe it," Webb
said. "I mean, I was good today, but
it wasn't anything like last weekend.
But it just shows that you never give
up and put your head down. I got a
gift from Marv [Musquin], you know,
with him crashing, and he caught me
at the end. I was so nervous, I don't
know why. No one told me the sec-
ond one's harder than the first."
Musquin was a close second de-
spite his midrace crash.
"Yeah, I think I relaxed too much,"
Musquin said. "It was super-intense,
and physically, it's tough out there. I'm
definitely getting better. This week,
Blake Baggett
continued his up-
and-down season
so far. Oakland, this
time, was an up.
