JASON ANDERSON:
WHERE'S THE CHAMP?
Rockstar Husqvarna's Jason Anderson
suffered another injury that will keep
him sidelined for most, if not all, of the
AMA Supercross season, so he will
be unable to defend the number-one
plate. The Monday following the Ana-
heim 2 Supercross, Anderson had a
crash while testing that left him with a
broken left arm that required surgery.
His recovery time is expected to be a
minimum of eight weeks. "I am really
bummed to have to say that I am out
for an injury," Anderson said. "I was
struggling to find my groove but had
high hopes of pushing forward to the
podium in all of the upcoming rounds.
I will be back stronger."
RED PLATE ROULETTE
Ken Roczen had a chance to retain
the red plate after Oakland after run-
ning as high as second in the main
event, but he'll have to hand it over to
Cooper Webb for next week. "I think
he [Roczen] spent too much time
trying to get by [Joey] Savatgy, so by
the time he did, he had used up too
much energy," said Oscar Wirdeman,
Roczen's turner. "That combined with
the tough track conditions, and he just
ran out of steam. He's bummed but if
your bad day is still going to be a top-
five, that's pretty good. It could be way
worse. Now somebody else can have
the red plate and we can chase them."
WILSON TO HUSKY?
The injury to Jason Anderson leaves
the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Team
without a 450SX-class rider. The
team's other rider, Zach Osborne,
suffered a broken collarbone before
the season started. It was almost
expected that Husqvarna rider Dean
