JANUARY 11, 1989
Ezra Lusk was pictured on the cover of Cycle News 20 years ago for
winning the opening round of the AMA Supercross Series at Anaheim
Stadium. Honda riders—Lusk, Mickael Pichon, Mike LaRocco and
Kevin Windham—took the first four positions. Yamaha of Troy's Casey
Johnson won the 125cc main event… We interviewed Mat Mladin…
Alan Cathcart tested the 1999 Triumph Sprint ST.
We ran a photo of Damon Bradshaw leading the way at the Florida
Winter MX Series from Gatorback Raceway Park; he won, of course,
as did John Kitch and Fred Andrews… Out West, Jeff Ward, Willie
Surratt and Mike Healey were the big winners in the Golden State
Series at Glen Helen… We interviewed road racer John Kocinski,
and tested the Kawasaki ZX-10.
