his new-found speed and consistency.

ho would have guessed
at the beginning of the
year that Davi Millsaps
would be wearing the red plate,
which signifies the current Supercross points leader, five
rounds into the 2013 Monster
Energy AMA Supercross Series?
Not many. But he is.
Four weeks after winning the
series opener at Anaheim, the
new Rockstar Energy Racing
team rider certainly has proved
that his A1 win was certainly no
fluke. He's still been fast and
consistent ever since, and when
the series heads to Angel Stadium this weekend for the third
and final time this season, he will
be one of the riders people are
talking about, unlike how it was
before A1.
Despite finishing second in the
2012 Supercross Series, Millsaps came into 2013 so far off
the radar that he wasn't invited to
the 2013 pre-season Supercross
press conference, something
that didn't go unnoticed by Millsaps. But he did say at the time
that it didn't really bother him.
Yet despite finishing on the podium three out of the four races
so far, Millsaps still isn't usually
the number-one topic of most
people's conversations when it
comes to pre-race predictions,
which usually involve Ryan Villopoto, James Stewart, Justin Barcia, Trey Canard or Chad Reed.
But the Georgia-native seems to
be using that to his advantage,
and he seems perfectly content
to trudge along eating up valuable championship points without too much fanfare.
"It's actually a good thing, I
think," Millsaps said of the anonymity. "Coming into the year I
