IN THE WIND P38 NORTON UNVEILS STUNNING SUPERLIGHT 650 I conic British marque Norton has unveiled its latest sport bike, the gorgeous new Superlight 650. The Superlight uses effectively one half of the Norton V4 motor to create a 650cc parallel twin that puts out a claimed 105 horsepower and 55 lb-ft of torque. It's the same motor as used in the Atlas scrambler range, but tuned for real racing. Wrapped in carbon fiber bodywork, the frame appears to be the tubular steel design used on the V4 superbike, with Ohlins NIX30 forks and a TTX shock used, Brembo M50 brake calipers, up and down quickshifter, traction control and an Inertial Measurement Unit as standard. Norton claims the Superlight is indeed super light and pushes only 348 pounds dry, and they aim to prove its worth with John McGuinness rumored to be in line to race it at next year's Isle of Man TT in the Supertwin race. Oh, and in case you're wondering, Norton says the sticker price is £19,950, which equates to about $25,000, making it by a country mile the most expensive twins-class race bike money can buy. No word yet on production dates, official U.S. prices or availability. CN NORTON IS HIRING! H ave you ever wanted to work for a major motorcycle manufacturer but didn't know where to start?
