THOMPSON WINS 2018 CANADIAN
SUPERCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP

ole Thompson is the inau-
gural winner of the 2018
Rockstar Triple Crown and 2018
Canadian Supercross Champion-
ship.
The final round of the 17-round
Rockstar Triple Crown and Ca-
nadian Supercross Champion-
ship took place at the First On-
tario Place in Hamilton, Ontario,
Canada, November 17, where
Thompson took the win over Phil
Nicoletti (Yamaha), Matt Goerke
(Yamaha), Daniel Herrlein (Ka-
wasaki) and Mike Alessi (Kawa-
saki). Colton Facciotti (Honda),
who was Thompson's nearest
rival in the championship, did
not race, as he is still recovering
from injury.
Thompson closed out the
Triple Crown Championship,
which combines arenacross,
motocross and supercross
disciplines through out the year,
with 712 points to Facciotti's 698.
Third in the championship was
Goerke with 629 points. Thomp-
son cashed in a $100,000 check
for winning the Triple Crown
Championship.
The 250cc-class Triple Crown
winner was Shaun Maffenbeier
(Kawasaki). Jess Pettis (Yamaha)
was second.
In the four-round supercross
championship, Thompson fin-
ished out on top with 83 points,
followed by Facciotti with 74 and
Nicoletti with 65.
Pettis was crowned super-
cross champion in the 250cc
class. Logan Karnow (Kawasaki)
was second and Maffenbeier
