PALMER FINISHES OFF 2018 SRT-AMA
EAST HARE SCRAMBLES WITH A WIN
T
he final round of the 2018
SRT-AMA East Hare Scram-
bles Championship was not
much different than the 10 others
before it—wet. When it comes to
the 2018 season, it was certainly
a great one for manufacturers of
chains, sprockets and brakes.
In Millville, New Jersey, No-
vember 11, for the AMA District
6 Sports Association NJ Field of
Dreams event, Wally Palmer (SRT
Husqvarna) emerged victorious.
Palmer got off to a fast start,
but already-crowned 2019 EHS
Champion Kyle McDonal eventu-
ally caught and passed him for
the lead.
Unfortunately for McDonal, a
broken clutch plate would later
knock him out of the race, and
Palmer would go on to take the
win.
Mike Beeler Jr. (KTM), who
worked his way up from the 250
A class line, and Justin Lafferty
(KTM) battled it out for second
place all the way to the end.
Lafferty held on to take second
leaving Beeler to collect third.
Matthew Davies (Yamaha) and Corey Daughten
(KTM) rounded out the top five overall.
In the C event, it was the Youth racers in the
Schoolboy and C-200 that would set the pace ear-
ly on. Schoolboy 2 racer Hunter Cleveland passed
the front row and emerged from the woods in first
place. Behind him were Trevor Kibler (Sherco)
and Julian Wojcik (Suzuki) from the Schoolboy
1 class. This would remain for several laps until
Cleveland was forced to pull off
with bike issues. Now, the battle
for the win was made up of Wojcik,
Kibler and Ian Weisman, from the
C-200 class. After an hour and a
half worth of racing, Wojcik held
on to take the win over Weisman
and Liam Langer (Yamaha). Kibler
slipped back to fifth at the finish.
