MOTOGP FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 17 / NOVEMBER 2-4, 2018 SEPANG INTERNATIONAL CIRCUIT / KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA P58 gling a lot for grip." On the last lap, Rins was close enough to attack, and fast enough to get by easily. It was his fourth podium of the year, and his second time in second place. Zarco was barely half a second behind. The other big mover was Vinales who had finished the first lap 10th, and was picking up places throughout. His last victim was the on-form Pedrosa, who by then had outpaced Andrea Dovizioso on the top Ducati. A couple of places behind Vinales, Alvaro Bautista (Angel Nieto Ducati) was also making progress, and with five laps to go took seventh ahead of Miller. iii My Own Race: 42 ALEX RINS 2ND MOTOGP "I feel very happy because our race pace was strong and I was able to close the gaps to the other riders and pass them during the race," Rins said. "I still had very good pace even in the last few laps because I was able to manage the tires well, but I lost time earlier in the race so that made it more difficult. We're working really hard and we have found important things and learned more for next year. I'm very excited to go to Valencia, especially as we are feeling very strong with the bike now, and Suzuki deserve to end the season on a high." 04 ANDREA DOVIZIOSO 6TH MOTOGP "The difference [in speed] from practice was too big," Andrea Dovizioso said. "I don't want to say something clear, because maybe something was wrong, I don't know, maybe not. It's too early to know. From the beginning I couldn't brake, I couldn't make speed in the middle of the corners. I had to ride in a different way; that was strange. I couldn't make the lap time. [In practice] I was able to make 2:00-low with a used tire, [in the race] it was difficult to me to make 2:01.5. The conditions [on Sunday] were a bit hotter because there was the sun, but we don't know [if that was the cause]. The difference from practice was bigger than all the other riders. For sure, a really bad race." 12 MARCO BEZZECCHI 5TH MOTO3 "Unfortunately, I cannot say much right now, I'm just very disappointed," Marco Bezzecchi said after losing the world title. "We gave everything, but in the end, a little bit was missing. I thank all those who have made this way possible for me. And even if we have imagined the finale different, we can all be proud of our achievements. Thanks to my team, to KTM, to our sponsors and fans, and to Valentino Rossi and the VR46 Riders Academy, who all gave me the necessary support throughout the season." Hafizh Syahrin rode to a top 10 finish as the first Malaysian to compete in his nation's MotoGP race.
