ripping with eyebrow-raising performance and
wrapped in carbon fiber, the 2019 MV Agusta Brutale
1000 Serie Oro aims to bring World Superbike levels
of horsepower and handling to the naked sportbike class.
Developed closely in relation with the F4 RC superbike,
MV Agusta claims the Brutale 1000 Serie Oro's naturally
aspirated, four-cylinder engine cranks out 208 horsepower
at 13,450 rpm and 85.2 lb-ft of torque (at the crank)—and it's
all Euro 4 compliant to ensure proper street legality. If that's
not spunky enough for you, a race kit with a SC-Project
titanium exhaust and dedicated ECU ups that number to 212
horsepower, but only 300 of these limited-edition race mod-
els will be made. These impressive numbers were achieved
thanks to not only a complete redesign of the motor and
intake system, but with an emphasis on reducing friction
and optimizing lubrication.
Helping tame all that power is a Ride by Wire throttle
regulated by IMU inertial platform which manages eight lev-
els of traction control (plus off), anti-wheelie control, launch
control, and an EAS 2.0 up and down quickshifter. Housing
the big Brutale's engine is a "composite chassis structure"
featuring a steel trellis frame with aluminum sections, a sin-
gle-sided swingarm and carbon fiber wheels. Electronically
controlled and fully adjustable front and rear, the Brutale
1000 Serie Oro is fitted with a 43mm Ohlins Nix EC fork and
a TTX rear shock, both offering 4.72 inches of travel.
Completing the race-inspired Brutale 1000's chassis are,
of course, top-of-the-line dual Brembo Stilema four-piston
monobloc calipers paired with 320mm floating rotors up
front, a two-pot Brembo rear binder/220mm disc combo
out back, and a Bosch 9.1 electronic ABS management
system. All together, MV Agusta says the 2019 Brutale 1000
Serie Oro has a dry weight of 410 pounds. CN
