BUSH WINS BUSHKILL AMA EAST HARE
SCRAMBLES
H
unter Bush grabbed the
holeshot and then the win at
round 10 of the AMA East Hare
Scrambles Series in Bethlehem,
Pennsylvania, October 27-28.
The Bushkill Valley Hare
Scrambles, hosted by AMA Dis-
trict 6, saw its fair share of wet
weather, but that didn't seem to
deter the racers, including Bush
who led from start to finish.
But it wasn't as easy as it
sounds. Bush was stalked the
entire way by multi-time ECEA
and AMA East Hare Scrambles
Champion Kyle McDonal, and
not far behind was Justin Laf-
ferty. Bush, riding a Yamaha two-
stroke, and McDonal, a Bromely-
backed Beta four-stroke, used
every bit of the muddy and slick
five-mile racecourse.
On the last lap, McDonal was
breathing down
Bush's back but
couldn't find a way
around the high-
revving Yamaha.
Running low on
gas, McDonal's
bike began cutting
out, which allowed
Bush to squirt away
at the finish.
McDonal held on
for second, which
was enough for him
to clinch the AMA
East Hare Scrambles Champion-
ship with two rounds still on the
schedule.
Top A-class rider was Jason
Tino (Hanover Powersports
KTM) in the 250 class.
In the morning C event, it was
Schoolboy 1 racer Julian Wojcik
(Bromley-Team Perfect Storm
Suzuki) that took the win.
In Saturday's Youth main, it
was KTM racer Cole Hickman
taking the win. Local favorite
Trevor Kibler fell victim to a leak-
ing water pump seal just prior to
the race start and had to nurse
the bike to the finish and had to
settle for third behind Hickman
and Ryan Gribbin. CN
