Aprilia's Valentino Rossi was featured on the cover of Cycle News
20 years ago for winning the 250cc class at the Argentina Grand
Prix. Mick Doohan won the 500cc class… We tested the 1999
Yamaha V-Star 1100… We covered the AMA Fall Classic Motocross
at Muddy Creek Raceway and Derrick Shae Bentley was the
big winner… Jim Holley was pictured leaping a police bike for an
upcoming television show "CHiPs '99".
Eddie Lawson changing teams from Yamaha to Honda was front-page
news 30 years ago. Lawson was pictured on the cover, along with a
photo of the 1989 Suzuki RM125 motocrosser in action to accompany
our test… We covered the WERA National Endurance Road Race
from Summit Point, West Virginia. Team Suzuki took the win…
Duane Conner won the Hookstown 100 GNCC/Hare Scrambles in
Pennsylvania… We featured an interview with AMA Hare Scrambles
Champion Tony Hendon.
