Luckily, it happened after the race, not during it, when an overly boisterous Scott Redding stopped to congratulate him. Then again, boisterous congratulations were certainly in order for Mr. Merciless, the youngest- ever history man of motorcycle racing. The Repsol Honda rider had just taken his eighth win of the year to secure his fifth MotoGP World Championship, the seventh in all classes. And he did it at Honda's own circuit, in front of the very top Honda management and an ardent 55,000-strong crowd, with three races (and who knows how many shoulders) to spare, in the style of a champion. 7 Lucky Number
