METCALFE WINS IN AUSTRALIA B rett Metcalfe captured the overall win in round four of the 2018 Australian Supercross Championship in Port Adelaide, Australia, October 20. In the three-race format, Luke Clout was the first across the finish line but was penalized four positions for passing under the caution flag. This ended up giv- ing points leader Justin Brayton (Honda) the win, followed by Jace Owen, Dan Reardon, Clout and Metcalfe. Metcalfe came back with a vengeance and won the next two races, giving him the overall victory and putting an end to Brayton's three-race win streak. Brayton fell in the second race and took third in the final race. He still managed to take second overall by one point over Owen. Dylan Long and Reardon rounded out the top five overall. Brayton is still atop the cham- pionship leaderboard but by only six points over Metcalfe with one round—the AUS-X Open in Syd- ney—left to go. Owen is third in the champion. He trails Metcalfe by 19 points. In the SX2 class, Jay Wilson leads the championship with 88 points, followed by Hayden Mellross with 77, Wilson Todd and Jacob Hayes both with 75 points. Dakota Alix is sixth with 61 points. CN IN THE WIND P38 Brett Metcalfe ended Justin Brayton's win streak in the Australian Supercross Championship.
