Washougal has hosted a round of the AMA
Motocross Championship since it opened in
1972 (except for 1980 when Mount St. Helens
erupted). The scenic racetrack remains one
of the most popular stops on the tour. Last
year Ryan Dungey and Trey Canard won the
450 and 250 classes, respectively, en route to
earning their series titles.
