leading all 19 laps.
Cortese had to come through
from sixth on lap one, and tried
to win, but Cluzel was too wily
and got his revenge for his exit
at Cortese's hands last time.
Making the French crowd
even happier in third place, Lu-
cas Mahias (GRT Yamaha) took
his official R6 to his third podium
of the year, following two recent
no-scores.
In the championship itself,
Cortese has 169 points, Cluzel
158, Krummenacher 140, Cari-
casulo 132, De Rosa 128 and
Mahias 119. It is wide open still
with two rounds to go.
Stock1000
Markus Reiterberger (alpha
Racing Van Zon BMW) won the
last-ever European Stock1000
Championship after finishing
third in a sometimes-dramatic 15-
lap race, in which Reiterberger
ran off-track for a time as he
tried to win the title by winning
the race. A steadier head saw
him sit behind the leading two
to complete his championship
victory.
Federico Sandi (Motocorsa
Racing Ducati) won the last-ever
Stock 1000 round, from Roberto
Tamburini (Berclaz Racing Team
BMW) who took the title fight to
the very last corner. In the final
championship points, Reiter-
berger has 156, Tamburini 142.
WorldSSP300
The most tense season finish
imaginable saw Ana Carrasco
(DS Junior Team) win the first-
ever FIM championship for a
female racer, but from 13th place
at the flag in another crazy race.
Scott Deroue (Motoport Ka-
wasaki) got in a fight with Mika
Perez (Kawasaki ParkinGO), with
Carrasco—25th on the grid—hav-
ing to fight for even 20th place in
the early stages. A gear-change
link failure for Deroue put him
out, then Perez was stung in
the last two corners and lost
his lead, and with it, the title to
Carrasco, by one single point.
