The Aussie off-road star made a few bad line choices early in the race, but still managed a solid finish. The FMF/KTM rider was second off the line, but caught a vine inside his helmet, which ripped him off the bike. "That track was brutal," said Duvall. "It was soft and there were so many roots and bumps and there was no rest. It was definitely my toughest win." Ben Kelley made waves by working his way up from the XC2 row to finish third overall. The Trail Jesters Racing KTM-backed Connecticut rider spent most of the race battling with FMF/ KTM's Josh Toth for first in the XC2 class, but a strong push at the end of the race moved him physically ahead of every XC1 rider except for Baylor and Duvall. "Me and Josh were freight-trainin' for the first three-quarters of the race, really matching speed," said Kelley. "I crashed a few times so I just took (Right) Steward Baylor led the first half of the race but Duvall ran him down. Baylor held on to take second.
