In the end, Young's Sherco teammate
Mario Roman joined him on the podium,
marking a 1-2 finish for the French manu-
facturer. Husqvarna rider Alfredo Gomez
rounded out the top three.
Unfortunately for Bolt, day four in the
Mountain Race is where it all fell apart.
Plagued with problems throughout the final
day, Bolt plunged from second place to a
dismal 25th at the checkers.
"Long day on the mountain with several
dramas," Bolt reported. "To cut a long
story short, a hole in my radiator was the
main instigator but I plodded up [the moun-
tain] to claim my medal. Disappointing way
to end the week as I've been super happy
with my riding." CN

Young did exactly that on day
three's Canyon Race, charging
from 12th all the way to third, and
although Bolt crossed the finish
first, it was Young who won the
day on time, and moved to the
front of the pack in the standings.
At that point all it took from
Young was a solid performance
in the Mountain Race, the final
and most extreme challenge of
Sea to Sky, to bring home the
overall win.
"It was pretty much a perfect
day for me," said Young. "Got
the holeshot and managed to
maintain my lead! Super stoked
on getting the win! Big thanks to
Sherco and my team for the sup-
