Two for Tribbey at CRC, Round Three
to within a couple of seconds of jennings, but
that was it. jennings got to the checkers first.
However, Tribbey's 1-2 punch earned the
overall victory. jennings' second-moto win
earned him the second-place trophy, over
Brandon (2-5) and Nipper (B-3).
Tribbey returned aboard his AV
KTM/Slammin' Motorsports/Axo-backed 2S0F
to sweep both motos of 250cc Beginner racing.
Jimmy Roy scored a pair of second-place
finishes. jeremy jones was third both times out,
over jerry King and Andrew Bosma.
Anthony Barbacovi absconded with the
250cc Intermediate opening-moto holeshot
and led a lap before jason Parsons dropped him
back to second and took off for the win. Scott
Boston slipped past Barbacovi with time
running out to finish in second place.
Parsons went wire to wire in mota two,
letting everyone else fight over second place.
Boston would prevail in the end after a tough
moto, going 2-2 for second overall on the day.
Barbacovi's 3-S tally got the better of Anatol
Kozlowski's 5-4 score for fourth.
joey Savatgy and Chris Carrillo each picked
up a pair of class victories. Savatgy ran away
with wins in both the 6Scc (9-1 I) and 8Scc
(7-1 I) classes. Carrillo split moto wins with
Mason McBride for the first-place trophy in the
B5cc (12-13) field. Carrillo's 1-2 tally topped
the 4-1 score of McBride in Supermini action
eN
for his second win of the day.

VTM-mounted Matt Tribbey proved to be
I'-;ust too much (or his competition to handle, as he walked away with wins in both the
125cc and 2SDcc Beginner classes during round
three of the 17th annual California Racing
Club/Galpin Ford/GMO-backed Sponsorship
Series. Good start or bad, it didn't matter
much to Tribbey, as he attacked the J.B. Memo-
rial Track at Los Angeles County Raceway to
win three out of the four motos he emered.
Derek Brandon led the 2S-rider field out of
turn one as the opening 125cc Beginner moto
got under way. Tribbey gated in fourth but
quickly moved around Nick Matthews and
David Fajardo. By the start of lap two, Tribbey
had passed Brandon for the lead and was
starting to pull away. Tribbey continued on
uncontested for the win, with Brandon holding
off Daniel Jennings at the checkers for third.
Matthews was fourth, with Dalton Bailey
camped out on his back fender for a close fifth.
Brad Nipper pulled a nice holeshot in moto

jennings. Tribbey gated outside of the top 10.
but by the completion of lap one he was all the
way up into fifth. jennings dogged Nicholls for
a lap before taking over the top spot. Tribbey
found a way around Nicholls at the midway
point and set out after jennings. Tribbey closed
