VOL. 55 ISSUE 38 SEPTEMBER 25, 2018 P29 AMA NAMES NEW DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS G reg Pecoraro has joined the American Motorcyclist Association as its Director of Government Relations and will be working in the organization's Washington, D.C., office. Pecoraro will be responsible for fostering working relationships with the legislative and administrative law and regulatory personnel in government to advance the motorcycle lifestyle. He also will serve as a resource for govern- ment entities and AMA membership regarding motorcycle-related issues. "We are happy to welcome Greg aboard," said AMA Vice President of Gov- ernment Relations Wayne Allard. "We expect him to contribute immediately on the issues of importance to AMA members, such as higher ethanol content in our fuel, the effects of automated vehicles on motorcycling and protecting and expanding access to public lands." Pecoraro has more than 15 years leading, developing and executing legislative and regulatory strategies in the public and private sectors. His experience includes nine years as a government relations executive for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, as well as serving as Maryland's Assistant Secretary of Transportation. "I'm very excited to go to work for the AMA," Pecoraro said. "I believe that my many years of experience in transportation policy and advocacy will add to a great Government Relations team focused on advancing our member's interests across the country and here in Washington." Pecoraro said his priority in his new position is assisting "the AMA team in protecting motorcyclists across the nation and increasing their opportunities to compete, ride for pleasure, business, or just to get around." CN The AMA has appointed Greg Pecoraro as the new Director of Government Relations. BEACH FOR FINAL TWO AFT ROUNDS R oad racer JD Beach will, once again, return to his dirt track roots and race the final two rounds of American Flat Track aboard the Estenson Racing Yamaha MT-07. The newly crowned MotoAmerica Supersport champ has scored two podiums in his last three AFT Twins races and was hoping to return for more once the 2018 Mo- toAmerica season was done and dusted. Team Owner Tim Estenson was able to get the Yamahas ready for Beach in time for the penultimate round, Saturday, September 30, the Minnesota Mile and the following week's season finale, October 7, the Meadowlands Mile. "I'm really looking forward to getting the chance to ride the Estenson Racing MT-07 for the last two rac- es," Beach said. "I've been wanting to race these last two rounds really bad. Luckily Tim [Estenson] was able to work with me since I made the decision Saturday night after my first [Supersport] race at Barber. He worked really hard to make sure everything got lined up. I'm really pumped about it." The Meadowlands Mile also marks the first time Beach has raced a mile since 2013 and the road racer is eager to hit the fast tracks. "I'm beyond excited about getting back on a mile," he said. "The last time I raced a mile was Springfield in 2013, so it's been a long time. I've watched from the guardrail at Spring- field quite a few miles since then. I've been itching to get back on one, so I'm really glad that I'm getting the chance to." CN JD Beach will suit up for the final two AFT rounds in Minnesota and New Jersey.
