OFF-ROAD AMA ENDUROCROSS SERIES ROUND 2 / SEPTEMBER 15, 2018 ORANGE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS/ COSTA MESA, CALIFORNIA P60 When the gate dropped for the 21-lap main event, it was Tremaine aboard the electric- powered Alta Redshift that actually led the pack into the first turn. But by the end of the lap, Tremaine relinquished the lead to Webb, while Haaker was mired way back in the pack after falling. But Haaker was on a mis- sion. He wouldn't let the fall ruin his night and instead started charging up through the pack. He battled his way into second place by the fifth lap and then slowly, methodically reeled in the leader, Webb. Haaker chased the number-one plate holder, Webb, and finally found a way around him on the 11th lap, but there was still plenty of racing left. Despite falling in a rock turn and letting Webb close the gap a bit, Haaker was in full control of the race and rode off with the win. Webb, however, lost a posi- tion to Trystan Hart, on the Team SRT Husqvarna, before the checkered flag came out. Hart had caught Webb late in the race and pressured him into making a mistake in the rock pile. As Webb tried to regroup, Hart rode around him and took second in the race. Webb settled for third. Tremaine gave Alta, and electric-powered motorcycles, its best finish ever in fourth, followed by Spain's Cristobal Despite this little hiccup, Spanish rider Cristobal Guerrero had a good night, finishing inside the top five in the main event.
