learn from the guys I was racing
with. Overall I'm happy with the
progress I made this weekend
and as I raced at Magny Cours
last year. For the next round I'm
sure we can aim for more good

It was a tougher weekend for
compatriot PJ Jacobsen (Triple
M Honda), not finishing race one
and coming home 17th in race
two.
"Yesterday's race pace was
not so bad and we could chal-
lenge for maybe 12th place, but
then I had a small problem,"
an unhappy 14th.
"Qualifying wasn't the best but
I knew my race pace was good,"
Gagne said. "Unfortunately I
had some stomach discomfort
heading into the first race, which
got worse and worse. Although
I could run at a strong pace for
the first few laps, as the race
went on I was struggling a lot.
Having all that testing made the
start of the race weekend easier
and that helped me in the races.
Today I had a good warm up and
the changes we made to the
Fireblade made it work better
in the race. I finished 12th, so it
in a race which was both a little
bit slower (by just over three sec-
onds) and much more intense
than race one.
Savadori got a finish this time
around, and a fight with Laverty,
as they went sixth and seventh.
In a troubled weekend for the
Red Bull Honda crew, despite
lots of official and two free days
of Portimao testing recently.
Jake Gagne was fighting a
stomach illness all through race
one, and Leon Camier had a
bike problem in the opener. In
race two Gagne was a more
than a decent 12th and Camier
