Supersport It was a weekend of double delight for the Yamaha factory team. Not only did Cameron Beaubier wrap up the Superbike gold but his fellow factory racer teammate JD Beach took his second MotoAmerica Supersport Champi- onship title on Saturday. The Kentucky resident wrapped it up by crossing the line in second place to pole sitter and race-one winner Hayden Gillim (Rickdicu- lous Racing Yamaha), with the ever-improving Richie Escalante (Quicksilver/Hudson Motor- cycles Yamaha) third. Mathew Scholtz proved his skills in the wet in race one, taking second to Herrin. "I've been working my butt off this year," Beach said in reflecting on his championship year. "It's been really good. We've been lucky at times and good at times. We put the whole year together. Today was stressful. One of my goals going into this year was to win in the rain. I really wanted to win the race, but once Hayden [Gillim] got by me, I knew that was out the window. So, I was just trying to finish the race. It was the longest race of my life."
