Moto3
1. Lorenzo Dalla Porta (Hon)
2. Jorge Martin (Hon)
3. Fabio Di Giannantonio (Hon)
4. Gabriel Rodrigo (KTM)
5. Jakub Kornfeil (KTM)
(Redox KTM) taking most of the
leading from Dalla Porta, Di Gi-
annantonio, Rodrigo and Martin.
The Spaniard's second big
fright came two laps from the
end, when Bezzecchi high-sided
right in front of him. Martin hit his
rival's stricken bike, but stayed
on board.
Jakub Kornfeil (Redox KTM)
also narrowly survived the first
crash to lead the next group over
the line, from the KTMs of Albert
Arenas, Dennis Foggia and Dar-
ryn Binder, the South African's
first top ten of the year. Andrea
Migno (KTM) and Niccolo An-
tonelli (Honda) had closed by the
end, rounding out the top ten.
Martin, who has won five
races this year, now leads the
championship by eight points:
166 to Bezzecchi's 158. Di
Giannantonio has 137, and the
luckless Canet 118 and Bastianini
117. CN
behind first-time winner Lorenzo
Dalla Porta (Leopard Honda),
his Del Conca Honda teammate
Fabio di Giannantonio was a
similar distance behind in third,
with Gabriel Rodrigo (RBA KTM)
just over half a second adrift
over the line.
They were the survivors of
a five-bike crash on only the
second lap, with Martin missing
involvement by micro-seconds.
He had just overtaken charging
teenager Jaume Massia when
the Spaniard's KTM slid side-
ways and tipped him off under
the wheels of the front pack.
He took down Honda riders
Enea Bastianini, Aron Canet and
Ayumu Sasaki, as well as Nicolo
Bulega (KTM). Amazingly, only
Sasaki was injured, with a left
arm fracture.
This split the field, leaving five
away up front, with erstwhile
points leader Marco Bezzecchi
Lorenzo Dalla Porta (48)
came out on top after a
thrilling last lap for his first
career Moto3 win.
