es," he said. "After the world title last year, things
have changed. I have a big target on my back.
So it's nice to finally get that trophy this year and
hopefully it will be the start of me staying in the
top eight."
Third-placed Greg Hancock was pleased to
step up his SGP medal push, standing sixth with
81 points and eight behind Janowski and Lindgren.
"I want to win, but the win is pretty much out of
the question as far as the overall championship,"
Hancock admitted. "A medal spot is definitely not
out of the question. It's getting harder, but a couple
more days like this and I am in striking distance.
Things have to happen, as always, but I never give up."
Title points leader Tai Woffinden was controversially excluded from his
fourth ride for not being ready at the starting tapes under the two-minute
rule, ending his chances of a semi place and reducing his overall lead to
nine points. John Hipkiss

HASLAM TRIPLES
L
eon Haslam opened up a 45-point lead in the
2018 British Superbike Championship after
topping all three races in the BSB tripleheader at
Silverstone, September 8-9.
In sunny conditions, vastly different to the
deluge of MotoGP two weeks earlier, Haslam
took the wins after three hard battles with the Ya-
mahas of Tarran Mackenzie and Josh Brookes,
Kawasaki-mounted Jake Dixon and the Ducati of
Glen Irwin.
With three rounds to go, Haslam leads on 568
points to Jake Dixon's 523, with Brookes third on 519. CN
