on the sidelines.
Mees almost took advantage
of the restart, but after exchang-
ing the lead back and forth, Briar
Bauman took over and pulled
away. Mees now had his hands
full with "little brother." Lap 13
saw Bronson take over second
and Mees seemed to settle into
third place.
Carver, Vanderkooi and John-
son were having a great race for
fourth and appeared to be catch-
ing Mees. With just three laps
to go Carver started to slow.
Johnson made the most of that
and moved from sixth to fourth
while Vanderkooi maintained
fifth. Rob Pearson, Henry Wiles,
Davis Fisher, Jay Maloney and
Brandon Robinson rounded out
the top 10.

nowhere to go and they slid into
the air fence. Henry Wiles could
not avoid Coolbeth's downed
motorcycle and gave it a heavy
blow. Coolbeth's radiator was
damaged beyond repair and his
night was over before it began.
Everyone else lined up
for the restart with Wiles,
Vanderkooi and Bronson
Bauman on the fourth line.
Johnson was able to duplicate
his first start, but this time
newly crowned 2018 AFT Twins
Champion, Jared Mees (Indian
Motorcycles/Rogers Racing,
Indian Scout FTR750), Hal-
bert and Lewis were second
through fourth. Briar was fifth
and Bronson came from the
back to sixth into the first turn.
Jeffrey Carver (Roof-Systems
of Dallas/Indian of Metro Mil-
waukee, Indian Scout FTR750)
charged into the mix and fol-
lowed Mees and Johnson at the
end of lap one. Briar Bauman
went right to the high line and by
lap four he had taken the lead
and was pulling away.
Mees and Carver battled over
second while brothers-in-law
Johnson and Lewis fought over
fourth. Bronson Bauman was
working his way back up after
slipping back from his great
restart. On lap 10, the red flag
was out once again, this time for
Lewis, he was unable to make
the restart and joined Coolbeth
