Webb (FMF KTM) started the main
event off with the holeshot, but Haaker
(Rockstar Energy Husqvarna), Webb's
number-one concern going into the night,
was right behind him. The two went back
and forth as they battled for the lead early
in the race, and then Webb took control
and pulled away for what seemed like it
would be a sure win for the former pro tri-
als rider, after he opened up a 12-second
advantage over Haaker. But things started
unraveling for Webb after he made a cou-
ple of costly mistakes, and then suffered

ody Webb opened the 2018 AMA
EnduroCross Championship with a
hard-fought win in front of a packed
Prescott Valley Event Center. The defend-
ing champion, Webb, had to fight off
longtime rival Colton Haaker in the single
Super EnduroCross main before he could
spray the champagne from the top step of
the podium, following what was a night of
exceptionally good racing.
