"I certainly do hope we have not seen the
last of Roger Hayden."
Roger Hayden
Interview
Thank you Cycle News for the
interview with Roger Hayden in
Issue 33, 2018.
Watching the Haydens come
through the ranks has been a
passion [of mine] over the last
20-plus years. I am certainly not
alone in that interest, either.
And, Roger Hayden, with
such a tough road to follow in
the steps of Tommy and Nicky,
pulled it off. Imagine his posi-
tion. But he did it with intention
to be the best, also. He did it
with quiet, business-like resolve.
I certainly do hope we have not
seen the last of Roger Hayden.
Rock on, Roger. And heart-
felt wishes for the best in your
new marriage, increasing family,
track side, and recreational
endeavors.
You have earned that retire-
ment.

I enjoyed your interview with
Roger Hayden. Just like every-
one else in his family, Roger is
a class act, and I wish him well
down whichever road he cho-
ses taking in the future.
Thanks for the memories,
Roger.

Eli Tomac And
The Outdoors
My crystal ball sees Roczen
"healthy, in shape, as always,
and Roczen and rollin'" all the
way to the championship next
year. He definitely shows the
speed and drive to accomplish
top-five finishes consistently
and, without a doubt, he has the
heart to make it happen.
Congrats to Tomac, always
one of my favorites. Two [cham-
pionships] in a row in the books
now—very good. Smart riding this
year. Not many can come from a
DNF and lose the points lead and
still hang tight and pull it off.
And, don't forget, finding the
extra gear when he needed it
the most to pass the front guys
like a banshee on fire.
Sounds like a lot of good 250
guys moving up to 450s for next
year and that should be interest-
ing to say the least. Anyway, for
me it was a good series. Look-
ing forward to next year.

Great final race! Glad to see
Chad Reed back out there with
holeshots and great finishes.
Barcia did great! Much
needed wins for him, just wish
he could have finished with a
couple of more points.
Adam Wright
The outdoors series was a lot
of fun to watch this year—Roc-
zen making his comeback,
Barcia finally getting a win after
starting the season without a
ride, Plessinger getting his first
MX title, Tomac and all of his
come-from-behind wins, the
mud races, and all of the good
television coverage. Too bad we
lost so many riders to injuries
this year, though, like Anderson,
Osborne, Jeremy Martin, Grant
and Seely, just to name a few.
But motocross is a tough sport
and not for sissies.
Can't wait for next year, but at
least the MX of Nations is right
around the corner. Go Team USA!
