an updated, forward facing intake to look like the
factory Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines drag rac-
ers and a new two-into-one exhaust that helps aid
cornering clearance.
The FXDR's development was aimed at saving
weight wherever possible. The company fitted an
aluminum swingarm, saving 43 percent over the
steel item found on bikes like the Fat Bob. The
wheels are lighter, and there's an alloy subframe
and composite tail section and front and rear fend-
ers, replacing the steel units traditionally used.
The basic chassis is unchanged from the Softail
base, with 43mm Showa forks and twin 300mm
front brake discs griped by four-piston calipers,
although the styling is sharper than something on
the Fat Bob 114 and aimed at the drag bike crowd,
with LED lighting front and rear.
The new FXDR 114 comes in Vivid Black for
$21,349, with an assortment of custom colors
starting at $21,749. We'll be testing one for you
when a press unit becomes available. CN
