IN THE WIND P42 RONNIE MAC OUT, KEVIN WINDHAM IN FOR MX OF NATIONS A few weeks ago, Puerto Rico announced it was going to field a team for the upcoming Motocross of Nations at RedBud in Buchanan, Michigan, made up of Ronnie Mac, Travis Pastrana and Ryan Sipes, but since then, a major change has been made— Mac is going to be replaced by retired motocrosser Kevin Windham. Mac, as it turned out, could not arrange the proper license needed to compete, so Windham was approached by the team, more specifically, Pastrana, and asked if he would step in for Mac. "I'm always nervous when I get a call from Travis Pastrana and to be honest, I wasn't even sure this was real," Windham said. "It took a bit of convinc- ing, but I'm happy to be a part of Team Puerto Rico and support a good cause, both inside and outside the racing community." Pastrana said, "While I am bummed Mac can't race, we all knew it was a long shot. Not many people know this, but my grandfather is from Puerto Rico and I still have ties to the island so I am especially pleased we are going to help. And we got Kevin Windham! He is my freak- ing idol! This is going to be fun!" "As team manager, I'm ec- static to welcome K-Dub to the team," said Team Manager Ricky Johnson. "No one else has more love from the fans than he does, and he is going to help support our end goal of helping others. It really says a lot about him to come back to racing for a good cause." That cause is raising funds for the victims of Hurricane Maria, which devastated the island last September. CN Kevin Windham will fill in for Ronnie Mac on the previously all-two-stroke Puerto Rico Motocross of Nations Team, on a four-stroke.
