Jorge Lorenzo's pole-winning Ducati
sits on the grid at Silverstone,
awaiting a race that would never
come. For the first time since 1980,
conditions stopped a MotoGP event
in its tracks, as pools of water made
the grand British racetrack unsafe
for competition. It also raised huge
questions for Race Direction about the
homologation processes circuits must
go through to host a MotoGP race.
