the bat I wasn't feeling it, just
because I've spent so much time
off the bike. I decided to take my
time because my arms were feel-
ing fatigued. In the end, when
I wanted to sprint, I was able to
find enough energy to do it.
"It's crazy to think I've won six
of these races. Right now I don't
feel so good, but tonight it will feel
awesome. I'm just so happy to see
how many spectators and how
many riders we had. I love this
type of racing and I'm pleased to
see it has a big following."
Lettenbichler, Webb's Red
Bull KTM teammate, ran in fourth
Fearing he might be too weak
to push though the entire race
due to his time off the bike,
Webb cruised through the next
few laps, doing just enough to
stay ahead of Roman, who had
overtaken Haaker. When Roman
closed at one point, Webb was
forced to pick up the pace; how-
ever, his plan was to wait until
three laps to go before opening
the floodgates.
When his mechanic signaled
three laps to go, Webb did ex-
actly as planned and turned up
the heat, sprinting away to the
finish for the win.
"This competition was pain-
from foot and knee injuries he
suffered at this year's Erzberg
Rodeo. Webb only got back on
the bike five days before the
race.
With the Hot Lap and two
"knockout" rounds out of the
way, 15 riders were seeded into
three rows of five riders to start
the main event.
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's
Colton Haaker grabbed the
holeshot from the first wave to
start the race, with Webb hot on
his tail. Webb took over the lead
near the end of the first lap with
a new line through one of the
rocky creeks.
